Food Marketing Institute is offering Food Safety Auditing Scholarship for the 2017/2018 academic year. Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time student (undergraduate or graduate) in an accredited U.S., Canada or Mexico college or university.
The Food Marketing Institute Foundation seeks to ensure continued quality and efficiency in the food retailing system and is operated for charitable, educational and scientific purposes.

To help support the role of food retailing, the FMI Foundation focuses on research and education in the areas of food safety, nutrition, and health.

Students need to demonstrate that they have a good level of written and spoken English.

Course Level: Scholarship is open for the full-time student (undergraduate or graduate) in an accredited U.S., Canada or Mexico college or university.

Study Subject: Scholarship is available are students currently enrolled in food and agricultural science majors who have a true interest in the field of accredited food safety auditing.

Scholarship Award: The Foundation offers scholarship amount to $3,000.

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for scholarship:


  • Be enrolled as a full-time student (undergraduate or graduate) in an accredited U.S., Canada or Mexico college or university.
  • Have completed at least two years of college to apply.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.2.
  • Be able to attend and participate in the SQF International Conference, November 7-9, 2017 in Dallas, TX (conference registration, hotel, meals and round-trip coach airfare will be provided).
  • Be willing to accept an internship with a Certification Body (third-party auditing firm) should the opportunity become available.
  • Students having completed an internship in a food or agriculture science degree program preferred.
  • Previous FMI Foundation Student Scholarship recipients are not eligible to apply; however, previous applicants are welcome to reapply.
  • Family members of the FMI Foundation Board of Directors or Officers are ineligible.

Nationality: US applicants can apply for this scholarship programme.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirement: Applicants must have completed at least two years of college and have a minimum GPA of 3.2.

English Language Requirement: Students need to demonstrate that they have a good level of written and spoken English.

  • Current resume or curriculum vitae.
  • A cover letter explaining the student’s interest and career goals in accredited food safety auditing that provides specific examples that demonstrate why they are deserving of this scholarship.

1000 Heinrich Boll Foundation Scholarships for International Students, 2018




The Heinrich Boll Foundation is now accepting applications for scholarships for German and International students in 2018 academic years. The scholarship department of the Heinrich Boll Foundation grants scholarships to undergraduates, graduates, and doctoral students from inside and outside Germany.

  • Applicants may apply before beginning their first degree (Bachelor, Staatsexamen, Diplom) or at any time up to the end of your third “Fachsemester”. Masters students cannot apply because we aim to support students over the longer-term. However, Bachelors students who have been awarded support may receive further support for a Masters course.
  • Special (but not exclusive) target groups are: first-generation students, women, members of ethnic minorities, applicants from universities of applied science (Fachhochschulen).
  • The scholarship programme also focuses (but not exclusively) on certain subjects: especially the STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), particularly with a focus on environmental science (e.g. environmental protection, renewable energies, climate, etc.); economic and legal studies; journalism; and art studies.
  • Germans and Bildungsinländer/innen (1) may receive funding for a complete Bachelors programme outside Germany but within the EU. In this case, the application must include a detailed justification of the proposed location and subject.2) Student Scholarship – journalism: “Medienvielfalt, anders: Junge Migrantinnen und Migranten in den Journalismus” (for German nationals and Bildungsinländer/innen):
  • This programme is aimed at German or German-educated students with a migration background who wish to become journalists. Funding is not limited to students following journalism studies programmes.


  • Applicants may apply before beginning your study programme or at any time up to the end of your third “Fachsemester”. The conditions outlined in A.1. apply
  • Applicants for a doctoral scholarship: Please note that an application for the autumn application process is possible if you are a German or  German-educated doctoral student.
  • Doctoral students in all subjects who earned their university entrance qualification in Germany (Germans Nationals and Bildungsinländer/inner (1)):
  • At the time of application, the applicant must have been accepted as a doctoral student by a state-recognized institution of higher education in Germany or another EU country.
  • Preference will be given to dissertation projects related to the working areas of the Heinrich Böll Foundation2) Doctoral scholarships: Focus programme “Transformation Research”
  • Doctoral students from Germany who would like to apply for the focus programme “Transformation Research”
