Food Marketing Institute is offering Food Safety Auditing Scholarship for the 2017/2018 academic year. Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time student (undergraduate or graduate) in an accredited U.S., Canada or Mexico college or university.
The Food Marketing Institute Foundation seeks to ensure continued quality and efficiency in the food retailing system and is operated for charitable, educational and scientific purposes.

To help support the role of food retailing, the FMI Foundation focuses on research and education in the areas of food safety, nutrition, and health.

  • Be able to attend and participate in the SQF International Conference, November 7-9, 2017 in Dallas, TX (conference registration, hotel, meals and round-trip coach airfare will be provided).
  • Be willing to accept an internship with a Certification Body (third-party auditing firm) should the opportunity become available.
  • Students having completed an internship in a food or agriculture science degree program preferred.
  • Previous FMI Foundation Student Scholarship recipients are not eligible to apply; however, previous applicants are welcome to reapply.
  • Family members of the FMI Foundation Board of Directors or Officers are ineligible.

NNPC/SNEPCo National Cradle to Career Scholarship Programme 2017



The Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo), operator of the
Production Shoring Contract (PSC) with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and it’s other co-venturers; ExxonMobil, Total and NAOC, hereby announce the test for a 6-year full board secondary school scholarship in selected secondary schools across Nigeria.

2017 NNPC/SNEPCo National Cradle to Career Scholarship Programme



The invited students were selected based on their performance in the 2017 National Common Entrance Examination conducted by the National Examination Council (NECO). Candidates have been selected from each State based on the criteria below:

Criteria For Award

  • The student must be Nigerian and have written the National Common Entrance Examination organised by NECO.
  • The student must be indigenes of the State in which they were selected from.
  • The student must be in their final class (Primary 6) of a public primary school in Nigeria.
  • The student must be physically present to write the test at the designated school in the different locations.
  • Guardian/parents of pupils must sign a consent form confirming the authenticity of documentation provided during the accreditation exercise.


Candidates are expected to be accompanied by their parent/guardian to the examination centres and will be required to come with the following documents:

2017 Abdul Majid Bader Graduate Scholarship at Dalhousie University in Canada

Murdoch University is awarding Murdoch International Postgraduate Studentships (MIPS). These studentships are available to undertake the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Doctor of
Education (EdD) in areas in which the University has specialised research strengths.

The aim of the scholarship is to explore education at an advanced level in student’s choice of the study area as they work to achieve a professional doctorate degree.

Murdoch University is internationally recognised as a research-led institution with a flexible approach to learning.

Applicants require minimum IELTS overall score of 6.0 with no band below 6.0.

                                                       

Course Level: Studentships are available to undertake the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Doctor of Education (EdD) at Murdoch University.

Study Subject(s): Studentships are awarded in areas in which the University has specialised research strengths.

Scholarship Award: Murdoch University provides the successful applicant with a living allowance of AU$25,849 per annum (2018 rate) as well as a tuition fee sponsorship and health insurance premiums. The health insurance covers the student and their spouse and dependents (if any) for the period of the MIPS. Under the MIPS conditions travel and relocation costs are the responsibility of the applicant, however, Murdoch University provides the MIPS recipients with a (partial) allowance for relocation and airfares (based on receipts). International PhD Position at Justus Liebig University Giessen in Germany, 2017



Institute of Plant Physiology of the Justus Liebig University Giessen is offering PhD position in Phytochrome structure/function.

The aim of the project is to derive an understanding of the functional mechanism underlying photoconversion and signal activation in the phytochrome family of photoreceptors.

How to Apply: The application consists of two parts: a short answer and a formal essay. Students must upload these documents or submit them via email to ugadm-at-simmons.edu with the subject line “Kotzen Application” by December 1. On each page of the document, students should include their full name and date of birth.

Short Answer(of no more than 250 words): How would you use your additional annual award of $3000 (for study abroad, short-term courses, summer internship tuition, and/or research support)?

Formal Essay(of no more than 500 words): In what manner can a woman most effectively lead change in today’s world?

Interview: Finalists chosen for scholarship consideration will be required to complete an on-campus interview which will be conducted in February.

American College of Surgeons International Guest Scholarships in USA, 2017




The American College of Surgeons is offering international scholarships to young surgeons from countries other than the United States or Canada. Scholarships are available to visit clinical, teaching, and research activities in the U.S. and Canada and to attend and participate fully in the educational opportunities and activities of the American College of Surgeons Clinical Congress.

The American College of Surgeons aims to assist international students in building a growing network of community leaders throughout the world.

This scholarship endowment was originally provided through the legacy left to the College by Paul R. Hawley, MD (FACS Hon), former College Director. More recently, gifts from the family of Abdol Islami, MD (FACS), the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, and others to the International Guest Scholarship endowment have enabled the College to expand the number of scholarship awards.

Course Level: Scholarships are available to visit clinical, teaching, and research activities in the U.S. and Canada and to attend and participate fully in the educational opportunities and activities of the American College of Surgeons Clinical Congress.

Scholarship Award: The scholarships, in the amount of $10,000 each, provide the scholars with an opportunity to visit clinical, teaching, and research activities in the U.S. and Canada and to attend and participate fully in the educational opportunities and activities of the American College of Surgeons Clinical Congress. Assistance will be provided in arranging visits, following the Clinical Congress, to various clinics and universities of their choice.

Eligibility: Requirements are-




Applicants must be graduates of schools of medicine who have completed their surgical training.
Applicants must be at least 35 years old, but under 50, on the date that the completed application is filed.
Applicants must submit their applications from their intended permanent location. Applications will be accepted for processing only when the applicants have been in surgical practice, teaching, or research for a minimum of one year at their intended permanent location, following completion of all formal training (including fellowships and scholarships).
Applicants must have demonstrated a commitment to teaching and/or research in accordance with the standards of the applicant’s country.
Early careerists are deemed more suitable than those who are serving in senior academic appointments.
Applicants must submit a fully completed application form provided by the College on its website. The application and accompanying materials must be submitted in English. Submission of a curriculum vitae only is not acceptable.
Applicants must provide a list of all of their publications and must submit, in addition, three complete publications (reprints or manuscripts) of their choice from that list.
Preference may be given to applicants who have not already experienced training or surgical fellowships in the U.S. or Canada.

                               

Applicants must submit independently prepared letters of recommendation from three of their colleagues. One letter must be from the chair of the department in which they hold an academic appointment or a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons residing in their country. The chair’s or the Fellow’s letter is to include a specific statement detailing the nature and extent of the teaching and other academic involvement of the applicant. Letters of recommendation should be submitted by the person making the recommendation.
The online application form is structured to assist the Scholarship Selection Subcommittee and assists the applicant in submitting a structured curriculum vitae.
The International Guest Scholarships must be used in the year for which they are designated. They cannot be postponed.
Applicants who are awarded scholarships will provide a full written report of the experiences provided through the scholarships upon completion of their tours.
An unsuccessful applicant may reapply only twice and only by completing and submitting a new application together with new supporting documentation.
Nationality: International applicants (other than the United States or Canada) can apply for these scholarships.
